The Sierra Nevada Children’s Choir, SNCC, is a children’s choir for first through twelfth grade students with a talent and passion for singing. We perform high-quality choral music that ranges from modern to medieval. The students are divided into three magnificent choirs with top-tier directors who bring education and fun to our students!
Con Brio choir is for singers in the first through third grade. Dolce choir is for singers in the fourth grade through sixth grade. And the Bel Canto choir is for singers in the seventh through twelfth grade. In addition to our three wonderful choirs we have two sub-choirs: Sonoro ensemble is for young men from Bel Canto with changed and changing voices, and the Vivace ensemble is for young women from Bel Canto who show a proficiency in music knowledge and have advanced choral skills.
We have been fortunate enough to sing with amazing talent throughout the world. In 2007, 2008, 2009, 2012 and 2014 we sang with the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra and the Reno Pops Orchestra in 2011 and 2013. Additionally we have sung with the University of Nevada choirs, the Carson Chamber Singers, and the Carson City Symphony. We have also traveled nationally and internationally to showcase our talents. We have been to Denver and New Orleans for music festivals, and to China for the “World Choir Games.” We traditionally travel during even numbered years to broaden our singers' musical knowledge.
