Audition to join us for the 2024-25 season!
Children wishing to join the choir this fall need to audition so we can place them in the correct choir. In person and video auditions are available. Singers should prepare to sing any song of their choice for their audition (see suggestions below).

Sign-ups are here! In-person auditions are scheduled for Thursday, August 22nd, 2024 from 4:00-8:00 pm. If these times fill up, we will open additional time slots on Friday. If none of these times work for you, please submit a video audition per the instructions below or contact us for other options.
Up to two singers may audition together in each time slot, so feel free bring a friend or sibling to sing with you! If your child would like to audition alone, be sure to reserve both audition time slots for your child. Auditions will be held at St. John's Presbyterian Church (1070 W Plumb Ln, Reno, NV).

Alternatively, you may send in a video for your child to audition. Record a video of your child singing a song of their choice. Be sure to have them introduce themselves with their name, grade, school, and why they want to sing with the Sierra Nevada Children's Choir. Send audition videos to [email protected]. Make sure to submit your video by August 22!

What to Expect
Auditions are simple and fun. They are designed to check for voice range and quality. Singers should be prepared to sing the song they have selected, and we'll walk them through the rest at their auditions.
Additionally, singers are required to participate in their school music programs. When you come to your audition or send in your video, we will ask for an email to send a recommendation form to your child's music teacher or administrator so they can confirm that your child is participating in an appropriate music program at their school. Paper copies will also be available, if needed. This form is also used to apply for exemptions, which will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
